Essay is one of the most versatile genres in the whole history of literature. There’s no outstanding author who didn’t leave the exemplar in his rich heritage. If we compared ten random examples of essay on one topic – we would be so impressed how different their structure is, though the points authors assert can be similar. This type of writing is real pleasure for those, who cannot wait to share their thoughts, as it is so “spacious” and unsteady in its form. But each genre has certain specific and if this one didn’t – there would be no need to have such definition at all.
All your words must circulate around the question you’re answering. Ask yourself what is that thing bothering you and start writing around it. There’s no need to give the only clear answer, you may live the question open, to make question not starting point, but main point. But your attitude should be seen, you must be more on one side and reader has to notice it without any effort through your sentences.
The most important thing isn’t opening your mind to others only, but making people think. Essay is the piece of art and art is to widen people’s view. Even writing essay at school you can succeed and get the strong work in the end. Your manner of expounding doesn’t matter much, this genre is oriented to your thinking process and it’s not always coherent. But it doesn’t mean essay is allowed to be illogical! Logic is the indispensable component of your writing, the one, which brings sense into it. You can build your sentences however you feel, but you should put the accents right, to clear your point in spite of all chaos around.
Conclusion is necessary. You can skip the introduction, play with the form of body, but you have to finish it with your mission completed. If you lead a reader to some point – remind about it in the end, do not let your subject get lost, bring it through the whole text and show the final decision/direction you’ve chosen.
